The extension of four classrooms in the elementary school "Dragomir Trajković" in Žbevac, as part of the School Modernization Program in the Republic of Serbia, has been completed. In addition to the extension, construction and craft works, hydrotechnical, electric power works, as well as mechanical and telecommunications, signaling and fire protection installations were also carried out.
The value of the works is about 20,398,394.00 rsd. Also, the school is equipped with furniture and IT equipment worth 1,120,875.00 rsd.
The program is financed from the funds of the European Investment Bank loan in the amount of up to 50 percent of the total value of the Project, the remaining 50 percent is financed by the Republic of Serbia, i.e. local self-governments through infrastructure investments.
The aim of the project School Modernization Program is to improve the quality of working conditions of students in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The promoter of the project is the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, while the Publc Sector Projects Implementation Unit Ltd. Belgrade monitored the implementation of this project and performed expert supervision.
The Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit Ltd. Belgrade, as an implementation unit of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, has so far implemented the adaptation, reconstruction or extension of 157 school buildings on the territory of the Republic of Serbia within the framework of the School Modernization Program project. Work is underway on 4 other schools. A total of 65 schools have also been completed.
