The Pilipovic family in Šašinci received a package of building materials today, which they will use for the complete reconstruction of the house and adapt the living space for the life of their six-year-old girl with special needs.
"Today you get the material that you have been waiting for a long time and that you need to adapt your house, and therefore to improve your basic living and living conditions. After installing the material, your home will be warmer, more pleasant and certainly become a nicer and safer place to live. In addition to your household, another 27 families in Sremska Mitrovica will receive non-refundable packages of building materials and this will enable all of you to complete your homes and permanently solve the problem of housing issues. I would like to point out that since the beginning of the implementation of the Program, we have delivered 56 packages of construction materials to users in Sremska Mitrovica, i.e. a total of 2,051 packages on the territory of the Republic of Serbia," said the Director of the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit Ltd. Belgrade, Dušan Kovačević.
In addition to the beneficiaries in Sremska Mitrovica, 70 beneficiaries in Ruma and 22 in Bačka Topola will receive the material allocated under sub-project 9.
The event in Šašinci was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Sremska Mitrovica, Petar Samardzić, the representative of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, Elvira Angulo Rodriguez, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Sara Groen, the Director of the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit Ltd. Belgrade, Dušan Kovačević, and the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Stanisavljević.
The Regional Housing Programme is implemented with the support of the OSCE, UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, and is financed by the European Union, which is also the largest donor, the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
The Programme in the Republic of Serbia is managed by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit as the implementation unit of the Programme.
