In Arandjelovac, the keys of 18 apartments were handed over to refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, which permanently solved their housing issue. The apartments were built within the framework of the Regional Housing Program.
In the coming period, we are expecting to move in beneficiaries in Pančevo, Pećinci and Ovča.
"The moment has come to get your home, the home you've been waiting for too long, but it's been worth it. As of today, you have something of your own in the territory of the municipality of Arandjelovac, and the keys that we are very pleased to hand over to you today are a confirmation of that. Eighteen families will solve their housing issue today and permanently. Years of moving and uncertainty are behind you, while the beginning of a new and certainly better life is ahead of you," said the Director of the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit, Dušan Kovačević.
The Regional Housing Programme is a joint multi-year programme of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide durable housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in the region.
It is implemented with the support of the OSCE, UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, and is financed by the European Union, which is also the largest donor, the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
