In Veternik, as part of the ninth sub-project of the Regional Housing Program, the construction of 94 apartments is underway, intended for refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works on the construction of apartments are proceeding according to the anticipated dynamics, and the planned deadline for completion of construction is March 2022. The location in Veternik was visited today by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milo\u0161 Vu\u010devi\u0107, Director of the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit Ltd. Belgrade, Du\u0161an Kova\u010devi\u0107, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Vladimir Cuci\u0107, Head of the United Nations Refugee Agency Representative Office in Serbia, Francesca Bonelli, Head of the Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Serbia, H.E. Ambassador Jan Bratu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director of the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit pointed out that this is the third building to be built in Veternik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Resolving the housing issue of the most vulnerable refugee families is a priority of the Regional Housing Program, and therefore the obligation of both the Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, and local self-government units. In June last year, we moved in 276 families here in Veternik. By the end of the year, we will be moving another 152 families into Futog. The Public Sector Projects Implementation Unit, the Commissariat for Refugees and the City of Novi Sad have proven that they are good partners and we will continue to work towards the common goal of permanent housing for the most vulnerable,\" said Du\u0161an Kova\u010devi\u0107, Director of the Public Sector Projects Imp\u010dementation Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, works are being carried out on the construction of 537 housing units in 11 local self-governments across Serbia. By the end of the year, 422 more families are expected to move in 14 municipalities and towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
