Description	The project consists of three components. Component 3 includes the new construction and expansion or modernization of schools in Serbia. Selection and priority of schools that are included in Component 3 is the result of evaluation of the schools based on jointly adopted principles between Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the European Investment Bank, according to the consultant EC Harris Methodology (EIB Support to Serbian Education in Developing Methodology for Strategic Investment Planning for Educational Infrastructure), employed by the European Investment Bank. The schools included in component 3 will benefit from a complete framework package, comprising of full refurbishments or new construction, sports facilities, canteens, educational materials, furniture, equipment and IT equipment, etc. so as to allow schools to function properly and enable them to deliver a modern curricula. Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development at the 49th Steering Committee Meeting of the "School Modernisation Programme" held on January 16th 2014 has reached the decision that all activities which were under the authority of the Project Implementation unit within the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development, will be taken over by the Limited liability company "PIU research and development" in order to provide efficient project implementation in accordance with the provisions of the Finance contract concluded between the European Investment Bank and the Republic of Serbia. Agreement between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the "PIU Research and Development" d.o.o. regarding managing the Project "School Modernisation Programme", was signed on February 3rd 2014. The Contract specifies that "PIU Research and Development" d.o.o. takes over the Project „School Modernization Project“ in the part that has not been realized, as of a date of the handover. The handover took place on March 24th 2014. PIU prepare and conduct a procurement on behalf of and for the account of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
