Construction of the Scientific center and the Natural Park in Svilajnac has begun today, whilst the completion of the project are expected in March 2012. Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic, who along with the management of Svilajnac laid the foundation stone a marked the official opening of the construction site. During the ceremonial speech, Mr. Djelic, said that the construction of the center is a big chance for Svilajnac because at least 70,000 elementary school students will be able to visit the place.

Project value in Svilajnac is 5.5 million, stated Djelic and added that the construction of the center is very important for the popularization of science and is a great economic opportunity for the city.

Nature Center will be 35 permanent exhibits on the development of the biosphere on Earth, water world prehistory, the original fossils of the oldest types of dinosaurs ... The centre will be a part of the Center for the Promotion of Science.

The ceremonial opening of the site was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Serbia, Toshio Sunagati and representatives of the government and parliament.
